Empowerment Through Movement: “Moving Through”

  • Room 200, Barnum Hall Barnum Hall, Packard Avenue Medford, MA, 02155 United States (map)

Join Pearl Young, Tufts alum and founder of Harlem Grooves, in Moving Through, a dance session that guides attendees in conscious movement through a spoken introduction followed by a dynamic warm up and choreographed phrase to focus the movement on uplifting personal narratives. Young’s choreography and goals as a dancer have consistently revolved around creating space for and demanding attention toward Black American styles. When she began choreographing at The Taft School, she dedicated her choreography and research to representing the journeys Black people have taken through social injustice. This workshop is sure to be transformative in all the right ways!
